Wed April 17, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Lauren offers to take Nikki to a meeting, Ashley gets an appointment with a specialist, and Nick and Phyllis want to help their daughter.
Tuesday’s recap: Jordan held Harrison captive and sent a ransom note as Summer blamed everyone for enabling Claire.

Nikki shows up at the Abbott estate first thing in the morning.
Jack is surprised to see her and notices she’s been drinking.
She insists she’s just worried sick and he’s not looking so hot either.
Nikki blames herself for all of this. He tells her it’s not her fault and urges her to stop lying to him about drinking.
Diane and Traci wake up and asks what’s happening. Jack says that the cops and the security teams have no news.
Traci is sure this is awful for Nikki’s family too.
Nikki admits she’s not doing great.
Jack tells his wife he urged their son to lie down and then leads Nikki outside to talk.
Ashley wanders down.
She sits down and admits she feels fuzzy but slept well. Diane asks how much of last night she recalls.
It’s news to Ashley that she lashed out at all of them.
Getting upset, she says it’s all just a blank space and she’s scared. She wants help today.
Traci says they are waiting for a confirmation call for an appointment this morning.
Kyle walks in and asks if there is news.
Ashley is confused.
They tell her Harrison is sick.
Diane leads her son out, hugs him, and tells him Harrison will be okay.
Traci gets a call confirming an intake appointment for her and offers to be right there with her.
She goes off to get ready.
Out on the deck, Jack reminds Nikki he can’t help her if she refuses to be honest.
She admits she couldn’t resist the urge to drink. The strength she had at the party was lost when she learned Jordan had Harrison.
Since she couldn’t sleep, she went for a drive to clear her head. When she passed a bar, she stopped and started drinking.
Eventually, she stopped and came there. She hates being so weak… but those neon signs….
Why does she keep doing this? Jack tells her how proud he is of her coming.
He urges her to call Victor and let him know she’s safe. She sends him a text.
Jack tells her that she’s making the right choices. Her whole family is in turmoil and she needs to be sober.
He reminds her not to put too much pressure on herself and not to spin worse case scenarios.
She’s can’t help it. She put them all in this situation.
He keeps telling her she is not to blame. He and Victor will be able to fix this and make sure the people responsible are punished.
When Jack and Nikki go back inside, Ashley is surprised to see her.
Jack tells his sister not to worry and urges her to eat something.
After she heads into the kitchen, Nikki asks why Ashley seems unsteady. He says she’s just having some emotional fallout from Tucker.
The Newman feels like she is monopolizing his time. He’s not sure she should go to the office.
She finds it therapeutic but agrees to call Lauren and work at the ranch.
Talking to him helped but she thinks his sister and son need him today too.
He walks her out and makes her promise to call if she needs to.

New Harrison recast
Phyllis and Nick join Summer on the patio of Crimson Lights. She can’t be comforted because she will start crying.
She still hasn’t had an update on the ransom or whatever it is. Her son is in the hands of two monsters.
Phyllis demands to know about this Jordan person and why they know about her when she doesn’t. Why didn’t Nick tell her about this?
Nick doesn’t know why Claire would do this. It makes no sense.
He’s sure his sister is devastated to be losing her daughter like this.
Summer complains that there is no way Claire is innocent in all this.
Kyle calls. She asks for news. he has none so she tells him her son was kidnaped and he let it happen.
After she hangs up, Nick says she was being a little harsh.
Phyllis says he left Harrison with a maniac so this is on him.
Summer says they are all wrong if they think Claire has changed.
Nick takes his daughter’s hand and tells her to strong and not run off and do anything risky.
She worries that Jordan and Claire will do anything to torture the Newmans. Harrison must be terrified.
Phyllis tells her not to let these ideas in her head.
Summer runs out. Phyllis tells Nick they have to do something and he says Jordan has to pay “for good.”
She wants break something and hug their baby. She’s so scared about her own baby.
Nick says they have to find her boy and bring him home.
Back at the Abbott estate, Kyle tells his father about the latest text.
Jordan has demanded safe passage as well as something from Victor’s last offer. Once she’s gone, Claire will reveal Harrison’s location.
Strangely, Claire has asked for nothing for herself. Neither of them like the sound of this and decide to call Victor.
Ashley admits to Traci that she is horrified of what the doctor will say to her.
Traci says this is the first step to finding peace. She’s proud of her facing this.
Ashley thinks she would regret the things she’s said if she could remember them.
Her sister promises to be right there with her and hugs her.
Summer goes into Harrison’s room and holds his stuffed fox.
When Nikki get to the ranch, Laureen is waiting for her. Michael has filled her in and she guesses she wants to drink.
Nikki admits she already has but managed to stop and went to see Jack.
Lauren knows how draining being in constant fear is after what Sheila did to her.
She suggests they put work on hold so they can go to a meeting.
At the tack house, Cole brings Victoria coffee as she stares out the door.
They wish their daughter would come home with Harrison.
She says waiting to hear the demands are torture.
She keeps replaying her conversations with Claire and wondering if she’s missed something.
Could they be wrong about her? Is it possible she did take Harrison?
She’s been up all night wondering about this. Maybe Adam’s warnings were right?
Cole admits that looking from the outside Claire looks guilty.
Victoria doesn’t think that their daughter would turn her back on her new life.
He explains that Claire grew up with the same kind of parenting he did. She only had one perspective in her life and had to go on with it to survive.
They think about how their daughter said last night was the best night of her life. She finally felt like she was part of a family.
He could feel the love she was giving back to them and that she wanted to leave the darkness behind.
Cole makes them some breakfast but she can’t eat.
They rehash their initial rejection of Claire and she worries that could have done something to her. Maybe everything else was an act?
He says they can’t listen to these doubts. She is their miraculous daughter and they know her even if they didn’t raise her.
She worries they have failed and he reminds her they still don’t know what’s really going on.
He urges her to eat to keep up her strength.
She vents about how agonizing this all is. She’s dragged the Abbotts into it too.
He tells her not to try and think about this logically.
Victoria needs to believe that Claire is innocent and that means she is in danger.
She can’t handle the thought of losing their daughter again.
Jack and Kyle arrive at the ranch as Victor is on the phone issuing orders.
They tell him about the text and ask about the previous offer he made to Jordan.
Victor admits he offered her a chateau in France. Jack says she wants it now.
Victor assumes that Claire wasn’t involved in any of this since there has been no request for her.
They agree.
Victor tells them they can text back to say that the deal stands as long as they can return Harrison to them safely.
