I like to buy pre cut turkey cutlets from the grocery store that come tenderized and ready to use. Once you have your cutlets ready to go, lay them out on a cutting board and get them prepared for the next step. For theseAsparagus and Swiss Cheese Stuffed Turkey Cutlets, I first seasoned them with salt and pepper, then placed Swiss cheese slices, and 3 asparagus spearson to each cutlet.

Then you just gently roll them up and secure them with wooden toothpicks.

I then rolled these cutlets in a crushed cornflake mixture, seasoned them with seasoning salt, and drizzled them generously with butter. Put into the oven for about 40 minutes and smell the deliciousness as they bake.

These cutlets then come out of the oven with a crispy, crunchy, flavourful crust, a tender turkey outer layer and a cheesy delicious centre! So good. You might have noticed that some of the cheese has melted out of the roll up, but don’t worry, it’s not as much as you might think, but make sure to scrape all these buttery cheesy bits off the bottom of the pan and eat them…it’s one of the best parts 😉 Yummmmmm

Recipe Tips!

  • You can purchase pre cut turkey cutlets in your grocery store. Or if you wish, you can make your own from a whole turkey breast.
  • If you don’t love asparagus (or are allergic to it like my daughter), you can substitute it with broccolini.
  • Don’t have cornflakes? You can use bread crumbs instead.

FAQs

Do you wash turkey cutlets before cooking? ›

Wash your hands, but not the turkey! Many consumers think that washing their turkey will remove bacteria and make it safer. However, it's virtually impossible to wash bacteria off the bird. Instead, juices that splash during washing can transfer bacteria onto the surfaces of your kitchen, other foods and utensils.

How do you keep shredded turkey moist? ›

To not dry out a turkey, you need to add moisture when you reheat the meat. You'll see in our reheating methods that we add homemade gravy, chicken stock or butter to the turkey before heating it up low and slow. This ensures that juices in the turkey won't escape as steam when they're exposed to heat.

Can you shred turkey in a food processor? ›

You can use a food processor to shred meat. However, when using a food processor, you need to watch and make sure that you do not over shred the meat and turn it into mush with no texture.

Can you shred cold turkey? ›

Is it better to shred a turkey while it's hot or cold? It's generally easier to shred a turkey while it's still warm. Allowing it to cool slightly after roasting will make the meat easier to handle and shred.
